I’ll give it a shot if really necessary, but it would make things a bit difficult for my wife to do lessons with the kids during the day. WiFi channel is experiencing interference. I don’t really have a way to test the interference levels. I will say that it is only this laptop that has trouble seeing the WIFI networks in the house, and it’s not that it has trouble connecting to them. It periodically behaves like is has absolutely no wifi adapter hardware installed at all.
At that point, the only “fix” is to reboot the laptop. If rebooting the laptop fixes the issue why would power cycling the router fix the problem? Regardless, i have rebooted the router many times and that’s not the problem. I actually have two wireless networks in the house, and the laptop fails to see either one of the wireless networks when this problem occurs. Again, it acts as if there is not wifi hardware installed, period.

The router will continue to function for all other devices on the network when the laptop has this specific problem of the wifi adapter “disappearing”. I don’t see a setting for the router to “obtain address automatically” on my cisco e router. They have to be set manually. I did check with my settings for the adapter under “change adapter settings” in windows 10, but it is already set for “obtain address automatically”.
